If you ever wanted to know how automatic delivery works, read on.

There are many factors which affect oil consumption, including your home size, amount and quality of insulation, equipment efficiency, number of residents, personal habits, etc. All these factors can be calculated and condensed into a number called a "K factor." Each customer has a K factor that is specific to their home. We closely monitor usage and then generate a K factor specific to your home.

The computers monitor the changing outdoor temperature, wind speed, and other weather conditions over time. The information is then converted to "degree days." ("Degree days" is a numeric value which quantifies the effect weather has on your oil consumption.) The computers then combine degree day information with your K factor to determine the actual delivery date for your home.

Important: Use of an alternate fuel source such as wood or pellet stove affects our ability to accurately forecast your deliveries. We cannot be responsible if you use an alternate fuel source and run out of oil.

Please call us if changes occur that may impact consumption. This changes might include a new baby, people moving in or out, a new addition added to you your home or an extended vacation away from home. These are situations that may significantly alter your consumption pattern.
