Automatic Delivery
Automatic Delivery- Automatic delivery is available for all of our customers and for all of our products.
Our in-house computerized, degree day scheduling system keeps oil in your tank automatically.
There are many factors which affect oil consumption, including your home size, amount and quality of insulation, equipment efficiency, number of residents, personal habits, vacations, etc. All these factors can be calculated and condensed into a number called a K factor. Each customer has a K factor that is specific to their home.
The computer monitors the changing outdoor temperature, wind speed, and other weather conditions over time. The information is then converted to “degree days”. (Degree days is a numeric value which quantifies the effect weather has on your oil consumption.) The computer then combines degree day information with your K factor to determine the actual delivery date for your home.
Important: Use of alternative heat sources such as wood or pellet stoves adversely affect our ability to accurately forecast your deliveries. If you have an alternate fuel source it is important that you notify us if your oil level falls below ¼ tank.
